PIMENTEL

Pimentel is at the same time a spa, a modern city and a fishing cove. In the area, artisanal fishermen keep alive a pre-Inca tradition: the use of reed horses as boats. In recent years, Puerto Eten has gained a lot of popularity thanks to its picturesque infrastructure and beautiful landscape. This beautiful beach is very wide, as it is 1.2 kilometers long and has four small squares, two pedestrian piers with a viewpoint, five small squares, green areas and ornamental lighting. In addition, activities such as surfing, jet skiing, ATVs and fishing are practiced.

It is located 24 km south of the city of Chiclayo. Getting there takes about 30 minutes by private transportation.

HUANCHACO

PUERTO MALABRIGO

Home to the longest left wave in the world and a constant host of surfing events. Puerto Malabrigo, also known as Puerto Chicama, is a paradise for surf lovers. The spa is so famous in the world and among those who practice this sport, that its waves are known under the name ‘chicameras’. Thanks to this, it is visited by surfers from all over the world.

To get there, you must take the detour at km 614 of the North Pan-American Highway, 70 km north of Trujillo (1 h 30m by car).

Powerful as they are attractive, humpback whales are considered the most acrobatic. Despite being solitary beings, they gather in groups to fish and that is where you will enjoy their turns, movements and spectacular sounds. And all that here, in the north of Peru.

Through a three and a half hour boat tour along the beaches of El Ñuro, Máncora, Cabo Blanco, Los Órganos and Punta Sal, you will be enchanted by its imposing pirouettes which are associated with mating rituals. Don’t forget that the best season to observe them is from mid-July to the end of October. There you will find more than 5 thousand specimens of humpback whales that arrive from Antarctica, where they offer us a beautiful marine spectacle on the beaches of Piura and Tumbes.

In addition to the sighting of humpback whales, you will also see whale sharks, manta rays, sea lions, dolphins and sea turtles, who will approach the boats, creating a natural spectacle out to sea.
